Courses
Queer Theatre is not only about representing queer identities onstage, but also interrogating the very foundational principles of what theatre is and what it means to do theatre. From Stonewall to HIV/AIDS activism, from Harlem balls to televisual drag shows, queer performance has a long history as a site of healing and liberatory praxis.
Documentary Theatre explores the principles and processes of documentary theatre and the ethics of “presenting the real.” It culminates in a staged reading of an original documentary theatre piece based on interviews and research developed and performed by students.
